Summer Activities that will save the day

Summer Activities that will save the day

Summer is almost here! The school bell is about to ring for the last time and the kids are already going stir crazy!

We want our kids occupied, outside, and having fun and these activities are the winners that will make this summer one for the memory bank.

Potion Station

This one has already kept my kids occupied for hours on end. Literally. Hours. I put together our potion station with a mix of things we had around the house, things I found at thrift stores, and things I picked up on Amazon and at Hobby Lobby.

I've included links to make your life easier if you don't want to go scouring the countryside (or the city) for each little piece.

The basic formula is large bins with a dot of washable paint mixed with water + scoops + cups + stirrers = hours of amusement!

The absolute MVP so far is the ketchup and mustard bottle!

Flower Hunt

This activity makes a simple walk so much sweeter! Tear a piece of cardboard off of your latest Amazon delivery box and poke holes in it carefully. Then, as you walk with your child, pick flowers and add them to your bouquet.

The first time we tried this activity our kids couldn't care less. The more they saw me add flowers to my cardboard the more interested they got. Soon they were asking for their own piece and comparing flowers. It made for a magical afternoon.

If you don't have cardboard laying around the house, here are some supplies that can make this activity even easier.

Keep checking back as I test out and add activities this summer!
